The door then locks into the closed position so that the possum cannot get out. If it is too sensitive the door may be released before the possum has entered the trap by bumping into it. If it is too firm, then the possum may be able to remove the bait and leave the trap without releasing the trap door. To adjust the sensitivity of the door release you need to increase or decrease the slope on the L shaped hook which holds the door in the open position. This can be done with a pair of pliers. Increasing the slope will make it more sensitive.
